This statement is intended for customers and or suppliers of Gorman-Rupp Europe B.V.
This statement explains how Gorman-Rupp Europe B.V. handles the personal data you provide. Personal data is any information that identifies or could identify a natural person. Data is quickly considered personal data and can become personal data when combined with other information. Examples include name and address details, email addresses, IP addresses and telephone numbers.
Gorman-Rupp Europe B.V. draws attention to the fact that the personal data you provide is collected and used because this is necessary to enter into and perform any agreement with you. This applies to our potential and existing customers as well as to parties from whom we purchase goods and or services.
Without this data we would not be able to send you a quotation, determine which specifications or requirements a particular service must meet, carry out work, invoice, make payments and communicate with you quickly and efficiently about the execution of the agreement.
You are not obliged to provide your personal data. However, if you do not provide sufficient personal data it is possible that we may not be able to carry out the activities mentioned above.
Disclosure to third parties
In connection with the performance of the agreement it may be necessary for us to provide your personal data to parties that carry out work on our behalf. We also use partly external server space for storing parts of our sales and purchasing administration which includes your personal data. For that reason your data is provided to our server provider. We also use your personal data for commercial purposes such as sending an email newsletter.
Due to the international nature of Gorman-Rupp Europe B.V. it may sometimes be necessary to transfer your personal data to legal entities within the Gorman-Rupp Europe B.V. group or to suppliers, potential or actual buyers, sellers or other business partners outside the European Economic Area (EEA). For example when one of our servers is located outside the EEA. In accordance with Articles 44 to 49 GDPR Gorman-Rupp Europe B.V. will only transfer your personal data if an adequate level of protection is guaranteed. In addition Gorman-Rupp Europe B.V. may transfer your personal data if one of the legal exceptions applies (see Article 49 GDPR) such as when the transfer is necessary for the performance of an agreement you have with Gorman-Rupp Europe B.V. Direct marketing
We only use business data for commercial purposes such as informing you by email about our existing and new services. Each time we send you a mailing you have the option to inform us that you no longer wish to receive these messages. You can do so using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each mailing.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit our website. These text files store information that can be recognised by the website on your next visit.
Our website uses tracking cookies if you have given permission. We do this to collect information about your internet behaviour so we can offer targeted promotions. You may withdraw your consent at any time. Your data will be stored for a maximum of one year.

Our Cookies
Retention period for personal data
If you have not become a customer (or we have not become your customer) your personal data will be deleted no later than twelve months after our last contact.
If you have become a customer (or we have become your customer) we will retain your personal data for seven years after the end of the financial year in which the agreement with you was fully completed. The seven year period corresponds to the statutory retention period required by the Dutch Tax Administration. After this period your personal data will be deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- view and or obtain your personal data
- correct your personal data if it contains inaccuracies
- have your personal data erased or restrict its use
- have your personal data transferred by us to another party
You may also object to the collection and use of your data or file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
